KáluCRM

A case study. The customer, booking and Messenger app for small Philippine shops, taken from a name to a live product by YC CREAT1VES.

The shutterscome down at six.The customerskeep messaging.Someone should answer.

A stylist working on a customer's hair at a mirror ringed with bulbs, in a small salon at night A small auto repair shop with a car up on the lift

The brief: salons, clinics, gyms and repair shops in Pampanga run on Facebook Messenger and a notebook. Bookings get lost, regulars are forgotten, and the night's messages wait until morning.

The KáluCRM K signal mark: a white K on a green rounded square with a red dot at its top right

Kálu means dear one.

Kálu comes from kaluguran, the Kapampangan word for a dear one, because every customer should be treated like one. The accent marks the stress, so Pampanga reads it the way it says it.

The mark is the K signal: a white K on the brand green, with a red dot at the corner that means “always online”. The dot became the product's one graphic idea, from the app's unread badges to the rings on the calling card.

Today opens every shift: what's booked, who still owes, and the chats that need a person. Sales and visits come in as the day goes.

Seven days, one studio.

Prototype before code.Owners clicked through a working demo of their own kind of shop before anything was built, so the real app answered questions they had actually asked.

An assistant with rules.Agent Kal runs on Claude Haiku. It states only what the shop has taught it, never claims to be human, and learns new answers only when the owner taps to approve them.

Security from day one.Hosted in Singapore with independently audited providers, each shop's records walled off from every other, and two-factor sign-in for admins.

From a name to a live app.

7days

KáluCRM was named on 15 October 2026 and its app went live on 22 October, with the website on kalucrm.com the next day.

13kinds of shop, each with its own sample business in the demo
4languages Agent Kal answers in: Taglish, Filipino, Cebuano, English
200+automated tests guarding the app before every change

Then the website, live.

kalucrm.com sells the product in the shop owner's own words: the shutters come down at six, the Messenger doesn't.

kalucrm.com on a phone: the same headline, with Book a demo and See a day at the shop buttons

Real screens only.Every product picture on the site is captured from the working demo, retaken whenever the app changes.

A demo request that answers.Book a demo sends the visitor a branded thank-you email and the studio a notice, from KáluCRM's own mail domain.

Made for phones too. Most shop owners will first see it on a phone, so the phone layout is its own composition, not a squeezed desktop.
